The challenge for this Childcare mural artist: make an interior childcare centre space seem like an outdoor one.
With minimal space for play outside, this child care centre needed a professional mural artist that could bring nature into the space and help give kids a sense of being outdoors.
To do this we kept the artwork light and open by focussing on lighter, soft colour and shapes. We also painted a sky with light fluffy clouds on the ceiling.

We were inspired by the fantastic interior design in this space that used kid friendly colours and shapes, interior grass and gentle hills.
According to Education Queensland “Nature play and exploring outside is critical to children’s development.”
“Whether it be inspiring curiosity, developing motor skills, safely undertaking risky play or enjoying a healthy and balanced learning environment, venturing outdoors has many benefits.”
Childrcare mural offers a design solution to the problem
We filled the space with grass, hills, trees and transformed the boring white ceiling into and expansive cloud filled blue sky! The mural is packed with distinctive animals, flora and fauna to stimulate and inspire the children in the space.
Combined with the white walls this expands the sense of space within the location, making it feel larger than it is.
